after I typed all that I saw their "about" page. A smart move to go ahead and have a "new" product line/category to offer their existing clients. I assume the NGW brand is their first foray into their own private label stuff. It also helps smaller shops have the ability to put brand-name guitars on the wall without having to commit to $50k+ annual contracts for each line, while having the potential to offer them a bit more margin as well. It's a great business model and helps get blemished, etc instruments into folks' hands for less. They buy by the truckload 2nds/damaged/discontinued/etc guitars from brands like Fender, Squier, Ibanez, Epiphone, and many others and refurbish them for resale as "used." Part of their contract with the manufacturers is that they cannot leave the original SN on there so no one can send them back to the mfgr as a warranty claim, etc. When you buy a used instrument at a Mom 'n Pop or pawn show that looks basically brand new, but the original serial number has been removed/replaced, (15 years ago they put a gold sticker with a new SN over the original - I dunno what they're doing these days) it very likely came from MIRC. Shop name-brand musical instruments, all in one place | MIRC () A quick googlin' and I see that this Nashville Guitar Works operation is run out of the same location as MIRC.
